Drop-Off Kids Classes
To register, call the class registration line at 404-876-5859 ext. 2556, email registrar@atlantabotanicalgarden.org to receive a registration form or click the "Register Online" button at the end of the class description.

Drop-In Kids and Drop-In Family Programs
Registration is not required.

 

The Garden offers as great variety of fun and educational programs for children.

Events and classes for children include outdoor Garden adventures, cooking lessons in the Edible Garden Outdoor Kitchen, classroom activities such as natural crafts and more. The Children's Garden Amphitheater is also host to unique performers and storytellers throughout the year. 

 

Homeschool Day

Friday, May 24
9 a.m. - noon

The Garden hosts an exciting day of tours and activities exclusively for homeschool groups and families. Supplement your life science, botanical and environmental studies curriculum by visiting a tropical rain forest, a desert house and a native pitcher plant bog. Tip-toe through the treetops on the Canopy Walk and observe edible plants in the Edible Garden. The Garden also has a 2-acre Children's Garden focusing on the interactions between people, animals and plants.

Garden Stroller Strut

Fridays, March - September

Join a sensory exploration of the Garden! Parents and caregivers of young children are invited for this short interactive walking tour. More Information

Treasure Hunts

Hidden treasure awaits youngsters in the Garden! A search for something golden or sparkly begins in the Levy Parterre. More Information

Endangered Species Day

Saturday, June 8
10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

The national Endangered Species Day began in 2006 to increase public understanding of recovery efforts for endangered plants and animals. Visit the Garden for a day celebrating rare plants and animals.

Trickster Tales Around the World

Tricks and pranks are not just for April Fools Day. In fact, every culture has its own trickster, set of jokes, and ways to make people laugh. Cathy Kaemmerlen’s tales of Tyl Eulenspiegel, Coyote, Anansi, and others leave children wondering whether a trickster is a teacher of fools or a foolish teacher.

Listen to stories about bees, butterflies, frogs and flowers. Meet in the Children's Garden Amphitheater weather permitting or in the Turner Broadcasting Garden Theater during inclement weather. Storybook Time is for children accompanied by an adult. More Information
