Joan Baez Bio
Joan Baez is an icon of the 1960s folk revival and an ardent advocate for peace and human rights. Early in her career she toured with the legendary Bob Dylan. A soprano known for her haunting lyrics, Baez’s influence is immeasurable. She has marched on the front line of the civil rights movement with Martin Luther King Jr., inspired Vaclav Havel in the fight for Czech Republic, sang on the first Amnesty International tour and stood beside Nelson Mandela as he celebrated his 90th birthday.
Her new album Day After Tomorrow is the first studio album she has recorded in five years. The theme is one of hope and exploring the pain of life during wartime.
